明年如何用大谷？天使新教頭：與普侯斯均分打數
天使隊二刀流巨星大谷翔平，因更換手肘韌帶仍在復健，但已經確定明年球季就能復出，天使隊新任總教練奧斯瑪斯（Ausmus），今天在冬季會議特別談到明年對大谷的安排，他說會讓準名人堂巨砲普侯斯與大谷翔平，均分指定打擊的上場機會。
天使隊兩大球星Albert Pujols和大谷翔平，今年分別動了膝蓋和手肘手術，因此大谷確定明年球季不會擔任投手，如何分配大谷和Pujols的出賽時機，成為新任總教頭Brad Ausmus的一大課題。
Brad Ausmus表示，「最重要的就是Albert的狀況沒問題，他畢竟經過膝蓋手術，我們聊過很多次，他說感覺很好，我們在春訓會把腳步放慢，最重要的是他的復原狀況和表現。」
大谷翔平的恢復期間比較長，所以他幾乎趕不上開季，Pujols則可以先擔任指定打擊，等到大谷歸隊後就會接手擔任指定打擊，Pujols就回歸一壘守備。Brad Ausmus說「大谷真的和Miguel Cabrera很類似，都有很強的長打威力，尤其是打向反方向的爆發力，你很少看到這類型的強打」。
Ausmus也說，他會力求讓大谷翔平和Pujols在打數上平衡，唯一的變數就是Pujols的膝蓋健康，會影響他擔任一壘手的次數。
不過天使未雨綢繆，已經先簽下陳偉殷在馬林魚的前隊友一壘手Justin Bour，Bour最近兩季打出45支全壘打，有一定的長打威力，在Pujols無法場場擔任一壘手的情況下，Bour將是最好的替補一壘手，以及面對右投手的代打人選。
